Today is the day. New team, new responsibilities, new route, all of it. Everything is gonna be different. There is still a little unease to it. Some of it being the fear of a new team, the rest of it being the fear of the unknown. What’s my brotherhood going to look like? Who is going to be my co-leader? Which male supervisor will I lean on this year for guidance? Anxiety fills the air today, but I try everything to combat it. For starters, I pray a rosary for my future team, and just pray for comfort and peace throughout the day. It was honestly a solid day today, nothing crazy was happening until tonight. We had our final small group that afternoon, which was a little sad given how much I loved the guys, but I know we are all on to big things this year. We had dinner, then I met up with my teammates from last year one last time. My teammates from last year (Sarah, Adam, Monica and I) all prayed together for our future teams, that we would receive incredible graces this year, and continual guidance. Now, it begins. Outside in the tent, we awaited our team for 9 months. When teams are announced, their supervisors come up and greet their teams, and give them their NET polo. The first set of supes go up, and Teams 7&8 are announced… not me, but 4 of my small group members were chosen which was hype! Teams 1&2 next. I genuinely thought for a long time I would be on team 2, but they never called my name. It left me a bit confused. Then, the next supes are called up: Christina and Anthony. Christina was my supervisor last year, and Anthony was my small group leader at Wapo. No way I get picked on their team! Sure enough…

“Leading Team 9 this year, coming all the way from Washington, Mr. Isaiah Morales!”

TEAM 9 BABY!!! I am so so so excited!! I will have a “Meet the Team” post soon, but as every one of my teammates were announced, I was jumping around as if the Steelers won the Super Bowl, and I would give them all bear hugs, especially the guys. After TAM, we met our team officially, and that is where Christina named me Music Leader!! This means I get to lead music during Team Prayers and Retreats, and can teach others how to also play guitar! Another major responsibility, but I’m so pumped!! I have only been playing for 6 months, and now I am here. Praise God! I could barely sleep that night given how excited I was. Let’s do this!
