Days 68: 1 Month on the Road! A New High

Yes, its gone by that quickly. We’ve been on the road running retreats for a month now, and its been such a roller coaster. But it was a team day today, so its time to celebrate. We first celebrated by sleeping in a few hours, then met at St. Peter’s for Team Prayer in the Chapel. We got some quick business stuff done with out donation partners, then ate lunch. From there, we drove out to a pumpkin patch! The team has been wanting to go to a pumpkin patch and/or corn maze for a couple weeks, so all of us were obviously hyped to go. There was indeed corn there! It wasnt quite a maze, though, more of like a walk. Nonetheless, when we arrived at the patch at around 2pm, we first hit up the corn walk. Throughout the whole thing, we goofed around the whole time, and once we found a comfortable spot in the middle of the maze, we began a photo shoot! We didnt bother anyone since, well, no one else was there, so we took photos for about 20 minutes until everyone was satisfied. Next, we hit up the shop since they were closing down soon, as well as the cows, goats, and one dog that were chilling in a certain gated area. The dog loved me, but of course it was the thing I could pet at almost every house. Next up, the pumpkin patch, where we explored and took more photos. From there, we found a good picnic table and began an affirmation station, where we went around and shared something positive about one another, either in what they did or just who they are as a child of God. These affirmations were extra special today, and it became an emotional moment for all of us, and no question brought us closer together as a team, understanding how much we truly love eachother. From there, we returned to St. Peter’s for dinner, finished up the affirmation station, and headed to the playground, where we played gravel. Its like Marco Polo but on a playground, and it was the best way to end off the night. . . I recently met a NET alum at the last retreat from 2015-2016, and I asked her if she stayed in contact with her team still. She said not really, but she also mentioned that every team was different. Of course the thoughts and what ifs entered my head, but with a day like today, I highly doubt we’re gonna stray away from eachother, especially with 7 more months of bonding to go. Lets keep moving up!
