Today was a much more chill day compared to what was to come this week. The main event on the agenda was a Community of Christ the Redeemer gathering. For a refresher, CCR is the community that created NET, and are really close. Team 11 has the job of entertaining the 4-8th graders while the rest heard a talk and did praise and worship. We played games and had a real good time, but i was curious to see hours the rest of the event went. Then, in order: lunch, confession, a talk, ministry prep and refreshers, dinner, and Men’s Session. The Session was impactful, because it made me realize how important the brotherhood is, and how we don’t wanna have any regrets when May comes around. I’m excited to make commitments to the bros, and it’ll definitely be crucial to how my second half goes. . . Fast forward to the afternoon of Jan. 6th, where i experienced the most physical activity in months. We went roller blading after lunch for two hours, and had a basketball game that night: 1st years vs. 2nd years and alumni. But in between, an intense adoration. Well, at least for me. There were alot of thoughts going through my head, nothing bad, just alot. But taking all of it in front of the Lord was so necessary and so fruitful. Through it, i wrote lyrics to a song! Nothing big, but i know i have the capability, which is something i look forward to using on the road. As for the basketball game, there were around 150-200 in attendance, and about 20-30 players on each team. Just some good, competitive sport. I played two shifts, scored four points, a couple assists, and drew a clutch charging foul late in the game. And ultimately, we won! 32-28 after two 20-minute halves. The energy was through the roof, and it was the second year in a row the first-years won. I haven’t felt that alive in basketball before, but it was so good getting back on the hardwood with such high stakes. . . Today was mainly set around laundry before hitting the road in a couple days. We took a paper map, got lost, but eventually found our way to the right place with Teams 10&15. Super chill time. With that, we had another talk, then mass for men only, since the women had their liturgy tonite. Ours was tomorrow morning, but we were looking forward to it!
