What a day it was! Our first retreat was at Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, MN, about two hours southwest of St. Paul, and we teamed up with Team 4 to lead the retreat. We woke up at 5:00am to make sure we get to the place on time. The retreat was pure chaos! Our original schedule got switched completely, as we had to add mass and take out an hour’s worth of content. In the end, we just had to follow our Retreat Leader’s lead. Whatever we said, we did. It was pure chaos for 4 hours, but it was such a successful retreat!! The kids were into it, the Holy Spirit worked through all of us, and overall it just felt great. Also, there were two other Isaiah’s, including one in my small group which was interesting. . . We arrived at our host home at 7pm, and had dinner immediately. Angela’s parents were there with us, and the Zeyens’ had a taco bar ready for us. I was so hungry, and had 3 Chipotle-sized burritos. I learned later that Jakob had as much as I did, but not before I had to lie down with a terrible stomachache. . . Jakob pulled out his guitar eventually and began jamming out. He then pulled out a little amp plugin that turned his acoustic guitar into an electric, which was so cool! Vincent then mentioned he had a big speaker with an aux that had a disco ball on it. So we hooked everything up, turned off the lights, and watched the show. Every string or chord Jakob played, the disco ball would switch colors, and it was so freakin cool!! We were in awe for about 45 minutes before we went to bed, but it was easily more fun I ever expected.
