Between breakfast and lunch, they had van driver training for those who are going to be driving for the year. Since I was not picked to drive and had no desire to, I was going to redeem my ticket for a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich from the Twins game, since they scored a run off an extra base hit I believe. I went with a group, and it was super chill. One of the workers there, Mallory, did NET last year with one of my best friends from Wapo, Alex Estrella from small group. It was fun talking to her and getting to know her a bit as well. . . For context, the CCR, the Community of Christ the Redeemer, is a Catholic organization that NET came out of. They are really good friends and partners, and they have an annual mass with all the members and missionaries. There had to have been at least 400+ people together in the main room celebrating mass, which was pretty powerful in my opinion, and I absolutely loved it. I didnt get to talk to many of the members, but celebrating mass was all I needed. . . I love my first host home. We are the last stop, all 5 of the guys are in the same house, while the girls are split in pairs at different homes between the NET Center in West St. Paul and Hastings, where our host home is about 25 minutes southwest away. The Zayens, the family hosting us, are super chill and so fun to have conversation with, not to mention they have a dog. Big time Packers fans, they learned they would be hosting us only a week or less before we arrived, but they took us in with alot of love and hospitality. I absolutely love them, and Im super grateful for them.
