It was just like every other morning, a normal visit to the docks. Perfect 60 degree morning, a few clouds in the sky, just me and the lake as my feet dangled above the water. I thought about how quick my time was here, yet it also felt like forever since we left the real world behind, much like a Narnia effect. The silent peaceful morning is something I hope not to forget, as it gave me time to pray and think back on my days at Wapo, days that changed my life. . . Every team has a “sister” team, which typically means they will do prayers and other activities with eachother. Our sister team is Team 12, a discipleship team that stays in Richardson, TX for the year sharing the Gospel at one parish. Today was our first prayer time together, a praise and worship session of course. We played at the amphitheater, right in front of the beach, in front of the 15 foot cross. Despite my distraught voice from last night, I gave myself up in that 45 minutes to praise God with my brothers and sisters. It certainly isnt 170 people, but our voices were strong, and our voices were heard. . . Today was all about team bonding. We headed to Amery Park, about 5 minutes away from Wapo, with Team 12. We played kickball (which we won 11-10), had sandwiches, and had bonding time with the team we will be with. I got to talk to Evan, Monica and Ellie more in depth, have more good convo with Roni, Adam, and Aimee as well. It was overall just really nice how NET gave us the opportunity to share time with our team, allowing us to release all energy and anxiety about the team.
